Chelmsford took a step towards retaining the Coralie Cup when overcoming Tipps Cross by 93 hoops to 78 on Tuesday 4th August 2015. A party of 12 travelled and more by luck than judgement all arrived in time to enjoy a hot drink before play commenced over 24 doubles games of 7 hoops per game. At lunchtime Chelmsford lead narrowly by 57 hoops to 55 but clearly the break had an unsettling affect on our hosts. Our team of Anne, Betty, David D, Joan, Jill, John M, John S, Judith, Len, Marie, Sue and Tony won by 14 games to 10 but ultimately the winners of the Cup will be determined on hoops won over the remaining fixtures between the 3 clubs with whom Coralie was associated. Thanks were extended to the Tipps Cross club for their hospitality throughout the day. Our remaining fixture in this competition will be on Friday 11th September when we host Southchurch Park.
